We offer cabins, camping cabins, glamping cabins and RV/campsites with a family atmosphere in clean and friendly surroundings. Meet Your Hosts, Mike & Loellen Grzeskowiak
Mike and Loellen discovered Ruttger’s Camping Resort in the winter of 2005 while driving around the area and scanning websites for trailers. We bought a trailer on a seasonal site and have thoroughly enjoyed our summers here ever since! Our sons grew up on the lake, boating and fishing and exploring the area and we have developed a wonderful lake-family. We have watched Bill and Candy Ruttger build the resort into the beautiful property that it is today and feel privileged to have the opportunity to now share it with you. Under our new ownership and with a new name in January 2023, Sunset Pines MN, we are eager to carry on the legacy created by our friends and mentors. We welcome you to enjoy our piece of “Up North” Minnesota lake-life with your family and friends, and don’t forget to enjoy a sunset or two!

Meet Your Managers, Denny & Monica Roos
Hi everyone! We're Denny and Monica Roos and we're so excited to begin this new chapter of our lives here at Sunset Pines MN in beautiful Backus, Minnesota.
We're a small family who is looking forward to putting down roots, growing our life here, and building something special for our family and our two boys. We both have over 10 years' experience in customer service and we love meeting new people, making connections, and helping others feel welcome.
Our two boys definitely keep us busy, and you'll see them around the resort with us as we make Sunset Pines MN our home. We love spending time together as a family, enjoying the outdoors, gardening, exploring, and making memories along the way. Being a small, family-owned resort is something we're really excited about. We want Sunset Pines MN to feel like more than just a place to stay-we want it to feel like a place where you can slow down, relax, enjoy the outdoors, make memories with the people you love, and feel like part of our little "Up North" community.
We're excite to meet all of you, hear your stories, and do everything we can to make your time at Sunset Pines MN special! Whether you're here for a weekend getaway, a family vacation, or just to enjoy everything the Northwoods has to offer, we hope you leave with great memories and a reason to come back.
